Bookmook (“we”, “our”, “the App”) is a book tracking application designed to help users organize their reading life. Your privacy is our top priority. This policy outlines how we handle data with complete transparency.

1. No Personal Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or share any personal data.
Bookmook does not require an account, email address, or any personally identifiable information (PII) to function.

2. Local Data Storage

All your reading progress, personal notes, and book lists are stored locally on your device. We have no access to your personal library, and this data is never uploaded to our servers.

3. Service Providers & Data Processing

To provide high-quality book information and a fast user experience, we use the following third-party services:

A. Cloudflare (Content Delivery & Performance)

We use Cloudflare Workers to optimize book search results and speed up the delivery of book metadata.

  • Cloudflare may process temporary network-level information (such as your IP address) to deliver the content securely and prevent abuse.
  • Cloudflare does not store or log any personal information related to your use of the App.

B. Google Books API

The App retrieves book details (titles, authors, covers) through the Google Books API. When you search for a book, your search query is transmitted to fetch the relevant data. No user identifiers are shared during this process.

C. RevenueCat (Subscriptions)

We use RevenueCat to manage premium features. RevenueCat processes transaction data to verify your subscription status.

  • They receive an anonymous App User ID and transaction history.
  • They do not receive your name, credit card details, or email address.

4. Device Permissions

  • Camera: Used strictly for scanning ISBN barcodes. No images or videos are ever saved or transmitted.
  • Notifications: Used only for locally-scheduled reading reminders.

5. No Ads or Behavioral Tracking

Bookmook is an ad-free experience. We do not use any marketing trackers, behavioral analytics (like Firebase Analytics), or third-party advertising SDKs.

6. Children’s Privacy

As we do not collect any personal data, Bookmook is compliant with COPPA and similar global privacy regulations for all age groups.
